Like Mother, Like Daughter

My cute little Hannah bug is going to have surgery in a couple of weeks. We saw an ENT this morning and has decided that her chronic sinus infections may be due to chronically infected adenoids. It's a quick 20 minute surgery and 20 minute recovery and we are on our way home. I'm really hoping that this will help her get rid of the infections. Other than that, there is nothing too new to report. I will tell you that their toddlerness is in full swing. We dove into the terrible twos a week early (they always like to do things early, huh?) and I'm not so fond of it. Lord, please help me survive this!

Beach Bums

George had the day off on Thursday before he embarked on his 2nd annual Florida Key's trip. He went with about 5 other guys, his Dad (who you can see lounging on the floor) included. These 3 pictures are just us lounging around the house waiting for him to leave.

The next bunch are of our trip to the beach. I thought we'd do something fun that got us out of the house for 1/2 the day. However, I don't think I can quite describe us as beach bums. The term may loosely apply when most of the time is spent running after the girls. They were actually quite well behaved and good listeners. I enlisted my parents to go with us because I wasn't crazy enough to talk myself into going alone. There is NO WAY! We had fun though and the girls had a lot of fun. It was work, but what matters is that they enjoyed themselves. For the sake of not labeling all of the pictures, Kate is wearing the blue bathing suit and Hannah the red.

Move Over, Mrs. Rambo!

There are two new chicks in town and they can sport the Rambo style like no other. Kate loves her head accessories, as long as it's not pony tails.

Kate sporting the lawn headphones-I mowed our entire acre yesterday and it's so nice to have something pleasant to listen to while you are sitting there for an hour plus

We have officially eliminated our need for the pacifiers at night. They don't even ask for them. However, they definitely ask for "ya-yas" at naptime. One step at a time!

Snack Time

I had a very mini-vacation this weekend with most of the bridesmaids in Erin's wedding and some family. We went over to Hammock Beach Friday afternoon through Sunday afternoon and had a great time. I totally wish I could do that more often! My two little cuties survived the weekend with my big cutie. They spent Sunday with my parents since George had to work. Here are a couple of pictures of them eating a snack with Rachel.

Who Knew?

Who knew that it's the simple things in life that keep toddlers happy...sitting in two infant car seats playing with styrofoam cups.

Happy 1 Month!

In honor of living in our house for one month today, I thought I'd give you a glimpse at all of the hard work we have been doing lately. These two just work hard at being cute all day. Some of you may argue that it's not so hard when they are so darn cute, but they lose some cute points when they pull a whole pack of diapers all over the floor.

Speaking of working hard, I forgot to pack pacifiers the other night when we went over to my parent's house. Silly me! Since we are too cheap to buy more and I was planning on weaning them from them in the next couple of weeks, we figured we'd just go for it. The first two nights there was crying, but not as long as I thought it would be. The 3rd night, George got thrown up on because Kate was so upset. Tonight, we laid them down about 10 minutes ago and I don't hear anything. We are still using the "ya-yas" (their word for paci-don't know where they got that from) at naptime. We are easing into the transition.

Hannah & Kate's room

Do you see Kate by the door? She has a knack for either closing Hannah into a room or out of the room.

Hall bathroom-I found a shower curtain at Walmart that matches the purple tile perfectly!

One of my favorite areas of the house-my toiletry stock pile

Playroom-I am so pleased with how decorating this turned out. I'm not completely done, but am content for a while with the way it looks. I got the curtains from Bed, Bath, & Beyond. If you look in the top right corner of the picture, you'll see a green & pink table & chair set from IKEA. The brown area rug is from Lowe's. Everything coordinates great!

I realized that I never took a picture of the outside of our house so here it is, the front anyway. Do you see the freshly mown grass? That was all thanks to moi. George taught me how to use the riding lawn mower. I'm not as good as he is...yet. He gave me some radio headphones to listen to and I had a blissful 45 minutes.
