My Latest Project

Hannah and Kate bring home a lot of papers every week from preschool and church so I was looking for a simple way to hang them up without them taking over our kitchen.  I browsed pinterest a little bit, didn't exactly see anything that would fit perfect in our playroom, and came up with this idea.  I just bought some wooden letters & ribbon from Joann's, painted them, hot glued ribbon to the back , and hung them by a nail.  Very simple and so far they haven't been pulled off the wall.  I just use a clothespin to attach their artwork.

I couldn't leave Reagan out!  She actually colored a couple of pictures at the gym today so I actually had something to hang up!

Silly Girl

Reagan is all about doing anything that her big sisters do.  Yesterday, she ran around with this bike helmet on her head for a good hour.  She cracks me up!

Saturday was National NICU Nurse Day so I did my best to re-create some ideas I saw on Pinterest for some DIY edible arrangements.  I spent all day on it, shed a few tears of frustration, and even bled after being stabbed by a skewer, but hopefully the nurses see the love of Jesus every time we show our faces in there.

Beautiful Girls

Kate had the responsibility of bringing snacks for her preschool class last Friday.  They were studying the letter "B" so we were assigned blueberry muffins.  I let both her and Hannah help me make a box of them.  They love to cook/bake.

Every now and then, Reagan loves to walk up to me with these silly 3-D glasses on.  Sometimes, they are on right and sometimes they are upside down.  I've been trying for a couple of weeks to actually catch her on camera.  These are my best shots!

And, finally, last Saturday, Grandma Schaefer came over to help us put some cookies together for the NICU staff.  Hannah happened to be out on a date with Daddy so Kate was the only helper.

They are supposed to be flip-flop cookies.

Our family of 5 went to visit the NICU this past Sunday after church and had a nice conversation with Dr. Landfish (one of our two favorite NICU doctors).  I spoke with her about starting up an on-site NICU support group and she is really excited.  She is supposed to get back in touch with me  in the next couple of weeks so maybe this time it will work out!  I definitely still feel led to minister to these precious families!

4 Year Progression

I think it's neat to look back and see how much the girls have changed from year to year.  The change is so evident, especially in the younger years.  Here's a picture of the girls on their birthday over the past 4 years.  I love them so much!

Look, she has her two front teeth!

And in this year's picture, she's refusing to show her lack of teeth!
Thank you, Jesus, for such beautiful little girls!

Hannah & Kate's 4th Birthday!

Hannah and Kate turned 4 on Saturday so we were actually able to have their party on their birthday!  I have found myself getting more frustrated with every party that I don't actually get to enjoy the party because I'm so busy cooking food.  Therefore, this time I decided to just do desserts.  The theme was Strawberry Shortcake.  I picked some of the characters and themed a dessert after each one.  I had some help from a couple of family members, but it was fairly stress free.

He may look like he was being lazy, but after working A LOT of hours these last several weeks, he did an amazing job of cleaning up the yard and making the outside of the house look nice.  Thanks, babe!

I didn't have Strawberry Shortcake costumes for them to wear so they wanted to wear their princess dresses again!

This little peanut loved the balloons.  She ran around the house in circles giggling because she thought she was getting away with something she wasn't supposed to!  Love it!

Our friend, Lydia!

I think that I counted a total of 16 kids and they all swam together at one point.  The Dads & Uncle Matthew were awesome enough to play with them in the pool!

I thought this picture was sweet.  It's got my three little blondies!

Since the way the party was set up, we really didn't have a great opportunity to sing the girls "Happy Birthday".  I made sure that we did it at dinner time and just stuck a little candle in a cupcake.

We are so blessed to have such amazing people in Hannah and Kate's lives.  Thank you so much for being a part of their special day and to those who couldn't came but sent well wishes anyway!
